SAT & ACT Prep in Queens

Preparing for a college entrance exam is easier with a plan. Star Tutoring Group offers in-person small-group and individual support for high school students at our Hollis and Jamaica centers. We help students focus on the skills and question types that need the most attention.

Start with a baseline

Take an official practice test for the exam you plan to take. Review missed questions by skill, not just by score. Pick a few priorities, practice them, and revisit another timed set to see what changed. A baseline helps make study time more purposeful.

Build a repeatable routine

Mix focused practice with timed sections. After each set, write down why a question was missed and what approach you would try next time. Keep schoolwork and your test date in view so the plan is realistic. Small-group sessions can add structure and discussion; individual sessions are available when a student needs a more focused pace.

Free official practice

For the SAT, use College Board’s Bluebook practice tests and its Khan Academy practice. For the ACT, start with ACT’s free test prep. Check the exam provider’s current guidance as you plan.
