Elementary & Middle School Tutoring in Queens
At Star Tutoring Group, younger students can get in-person support in math, reading, writing, and science at our Hollis and Jamaica centers. Small groups are our core format; individual sessions are available when a different pace or focus would help. We begin with the student’s classwork and a conversation about what feels hard right now.

Support for the work in front of them
Math. Bring the unit or type of problem that is causing trouble. Tutoring can revisit the underlying steps and make time for guided practice.
Reading and writing. Students can work on understanding a passage, organizing ideas, and explaining answers in their own words.
Science. Tutors can help students review class topics and practice using the concepts in assignments.
A starting plan that makes sense
Tell us your student’s grade, subject, and recent challenge. A tutoring advisor will discuss the right center, a small-group or individual format, and the first skill to focus on. If you are not sure what to name, describe what you notice about homework, tests, or confidence; the consultation is free.
